Town´s library
The beginnings of the town’s library are dating back to 1892. The library was then owned by the Voluntary Fire Service and it remained so until the year 1920, when it was given to town. In 1938 the library together with its reading room was moved to the newly built town hall. At the beginning of WW2 library was closed and lots of books have been burnt. It has re-opened only after the war. In the ‘70 the library was moved again to the Piarist College. After a refurbishment in 2010 spaces used by the library were extended and equipped with modern technology and new furniture. Today it offers 24 thousands books to its readers; the place has an internet access; various cultural events, workshops and lectures for schools are taking place here.
